About TrustedPsych

You chose to go out on your own. We’ll have your back along the way.

Our mission is to give independent therapists accessible, straightforward tools to run and grow a successful private practice, built around their safety and their well-being.

Our story

We built this for a therapist we love.

When someone in our family started her own private practice, we wanted to help her find the right tools. But when we looked at what was out there, nothing really fit.

The products available to her weren’t built around the things she cared about most: a practice that supported her sanity, her growth, and her safety. So we decided to build what we couldn’t find.

She runs her practice on TrustedPsych today, and she’s still the person we think about whenever we decide what to build next.

Our pillars

Five things we hold ourselves to.

Not aspirations, but guideposts we’ll keep standing by.

Privacy Above All

Your records aren’t the business model. We don’t sell your data or your clients’ data to anyone, and we’ll never offer an AI feature that listens to your sessions.

Safe by Default

A practice of one has no front desk. Every prospective client verifies their identity before they can book with you, and we won’t price your safety as an upgrade.

Built for Independence

Every feature and every product decision is designed to give you more control over your practice, not less. No lock-in. No complexity you didn’t choose.

Radically Simple

If a feature adds complexity without clear value, we cut it. We’d rather tell you what we can’t do than bolt it on badly.

Accessible by Design

One plan at $49 a month, and a directory listing with consultation booking that stays free whether or not you ever pay us. Nothing you need every day is held back for a higher tier.

FAQ

Questions therapists actually ask us.

01Privacy and security

Is TrustedPsych HIPAA compliant?

Yes, from day one. Records are encrypted the whole time they’re with us, walled off from every other therapist on the platform, and logged every time one is opened. You’re signed out automatically if you step away. That’s standard on every account.

Do you generate my notes automatically?

No. Nothing records, transcribes, or listens to your sessions. You dictate afterward and sign every word yourself.

How does calendar sync stay HIPAA compliant?

Your sessions appear on Google Calendar as busy time. No client names, no invites. Google sees that you’re busy, never who with.

Do you use my client data to train AI?

No. We don’t sell your data, we don’t share it with third-party advertisers, and we don’t hand your clinical records to outside providers to train on.

Can my clients see my psychotherapy notes?

No. Psychotherapy notes, also called journal notes, sit apart from the client record and are never accessible to clients.

02Getting clients

What does client identity verification actually do?

Before anyone can book a consultation with you, they verify who they are. It’s a one-time check that takes them about a minute, and their ID is never shared with you. No other therapist directory asks for it. If you’ve ever held a slot for someone who was never a real inquiry, this is what it solves.

How does consultation booking work?

It’s built into TrustedPsych. You set your consultation times, and prospective clients pick one from your directory listing or from the booking widget on your own website. There’s no separate scheduling subscription to pay for.

03Pricing and plans

Is the directory listing really free forever?

Yes. You can create a profile, appear in the directory, take 15-minute consultation bookings, and use the booking widget on your own site without ever paying us anything. There’s no listing fee, and we take no cut of the clients who find you through it.

The bet we’re making is that once a client books with you, you’ll want the rest of the platform to handle the session, the note, and the invoice.

Are there any add-ons or usage fees?

No. Voice-to-text notes, calendar sync, email and text reminders, invoicing, superbills, e-signatures, telehealth links, consultation booking, and your directory listing are all in the $49. The only other money that moves is Square’s card processing when you take payments, 2.9% plus 30 cents per transaction, and that goes to Square rather than to us.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, 30 days, and no card is needed to create a profile. The free listing also means you can start there and take your time deciding.

What happens when you raise prices?

Every therapist who’s been through an EHR price hike asks this, and fairly. We won’t promise the price never moves. We will promise that you hear it from us before it changes rather than after, and that there’s no annual contract holding you while you decide. Beta participants keep a founding-member rate.

What if I want to leave?

Export your data any time, cancel month to month, and go. There’s no exit fee, no retention call, and no 30-day notice clause. Your Google Calendar, Square, and Zoom accounts were always yours, so they leave with you.

04Billing and payments

How do payments work?

Through Square. Connect your account and we’ll charge the card on file after a session, send the invoice, and generate superbills when a client needs one. Processing is 2.9% plus 30 cents per transaction and goes to Square rather than to us. We don’t add a markup and we don’t take a cut of your fees.

Do you bill insurance?

No. TrustedPsych is built for private-pay practices, and it generates superbills for clients seeking out-of-network reimbursement. There’s no claim filing or eligibility checking.

05Setup, tools and what’s next

Can I move my existing clients over?

Yes, import is included and we’ll walk you through it. Migration is the reason most therapists stay somewhere they’ve outgrown, so we treat it as our job rather than yours.

What telehealth do you support?

Attach your own Zoom or preferred link to an appointment and it travels with the invite and the reminders. We’d rather connect the tool you already pay for than sell you a second one.

Is there a group-practice version coming?

No. Right now we’re focused exclusively on supporting independent therapists.

How can I influence what gets built?

Join the beta. A limited number of licensed therapists run their real practice on TrustedPsych for 8 weeks and tell us what works and what doesn’t. Participants get a direct line to us and a founding-member rate afterward.

We’re building this in the open.

If you’re a solo therapist with an opinion about what practice software should be, we want to hear it.
